Masha is a multi award-winning documentary filmmaker whose work challenges the human-centered narrative in the face of the climate crisis. At FORWARD storystudio, she brings a striking visual style with a deep commitment to environmental and climate justice storytelling.
Her films advocate for planetary health, honor all living systems, and invite us to rethink our relationship with the more-than-human world.
Her work has been featured by PBS, The New Yorker, and ARTE, and screened at festivals, universities, and museums around the world, including the Sydney Opera House and the Peabody Essex Museum. She has received honors including an Emmy and a Jackson Wild award.
Masha is currently directing a feature-length film on salmon rematriation, supported by The Redford Center and Random Good, and is an artist-in-residence at SFFILM.
